It is 14K yellow gold with white gold for the center basket where the main stone goes. This ring originally had a .62 diamond in the center that I had  removed to make an engagement ring for one of my girls. This setting has 5 rubies around the top and 5 rubies around the bottom. I am going on memory on this I believe they are 5 pt rubies so the total weight of the rubies is 1/2 carat. The rubies are dark in color and very nice quality stones. The ring has an open back so that the light comes thru. The total weight of this ring setting on the scale is 4.6gr. The jeweler that took out the center stone did a nice job and the prongs are not broken, he asked me if I had another stone I wanted to put in the ring so that makes me believe that this setting is quite usable the way it is. I have given you the original stone size and I am sure a jeweler could tell you how far up or down you could go to have a stone fit in this. Or someone may want it for scrap to reuse the rubies and melt down the rest. The ring size is about a 6. I have tried to give you photos on different angles to see how beautiful this setting is.
