Not Marked: Tested and guaranteed to be 10 kt gold or better by the Antique Silver House. A lot of these fine old hand made pieces were never marked.  Beautiful high relief Cameo set in Gold, Hand Made, Circa 1840’s  Fine example of the Etruscan style applied work, made before the Civil War.  Estate piece in fine condition This is a piece you would expect to fine in a museum.  It is that kind of exceptionally fine quality.  A very well made, wonderful piece of jewelry.  Could have been made for royalty.  As you can see, it still has a lot of the wonderful original patina.  The hinged hook is mounted on a bar that allows it to be worn up for a drop or down as a pin.  The hook is also opened so it can be used as a pearl enhancer or on a wide chain.  Open back has a bezel in which it may have held a love one's hair and a picture, needing only a thin piece of glass.   Gold color appears to be 14kt or better.     More Flatware, Silverware, Hollowware, China, and Estate Jewelry available.
