Description
Pearls are the timeless piece of jewelry that needs to be in every woman's jewelry wardrobe. There are so many different options, it can be overwhelming. The Freshwater pearls I use are cultured. This just means, man injected a foreign substance into the oyster to cause irritation - and the irritation causes the oyster to begin producing nacre. What you end up with is a pearl! They come in a variety of shapes and sizes - rice pearls, potato pearls, button, etc, etc. These pearls are probably the nicest I've every seen. They are round, with very high luster, and as free of imperfection as I've ever found. The genuine rubies set off the set beautifully - perfect for the holiday season or all year round. Ruby is the birthstone for July! As with most all rubies, they have been heated to improve their color. It is a common practice in the market today, but not always disclosed. The necklace is 20" and the bracelet is 7 1/2", both closing with a fishhook clasp. 16" and 18" strands are popular, but sometimes not quite long enough for warmer weather when we are wearing turtleneck sweaters. This set is perfect for formal occassions (imagine wearing this set for holiday entertaining with that "little black dress"; but is versatile and can be worn for casual wear. It's also a perfect choice for business wear. Pearls send a message that this woman is confident, capable, and yet feminine. Dressing for success is so important these days! Also, check the pearl earring studs I offer and make it a set! Beyond a doubt, this is the most beautiful set I've ever seen. The pearls and the rubies are top quality and genuine! About my Pearls: I hand select - in person - each strand of pearls. I look for: 1. Shape - as round as possible 2. Quality - as free of blemishes and imperfections as possible 3. Luster - nice, rich sheen 4. Color - evenly matched (whether color enhanced or not) After my purchase, I remove the pearls from their temporary strand, inspect them again, and place them in a lined box. Pearls that do not meet my standards, are discarded. Hand- Knotted - Hand knotting is very important. It keeps the pearls from rubbing against each other to avoid bruising whether you are wearing or storing your pearls. It also ensure you won't lose all the pearls should the string break . About the Pearl Necklace Styles: I consider my pearl necklace styles to fall into one of three categories: (These definitions help to differentiate the various styles. Obviously, the strands can fall into two or more categories. It's entirely up to you how and when you wear them!) 1. Career - Pearls are perfect for career wear. When you "dress for success" the jewelry you are wearing can add professionalism to your image. From my own experience - wearing a business suit to work every day - I found the length of the strand to be critical. Where my 16" strand might work for some blouses and suit jackets, for others it was too long or too short. One of my favorite looks with a business suit is to have my pearls "peek out" under my blouse and jacket. Another favorite is to wear them over a turtleneck sweater. Overcoming the length issue is really what created to need for me to begin making my own pearl strands. So, for my "Career Pearl Necklaces", I use a lobster clasp and an extension chain. My strand is 15" one day, and 19" the next. Note: These lengths may vary from strand to strand. I always list the length of the strand that you are purchasing.) And, if I want them to be even longer, I can add an additional extender. When you are wearing a career suite, all you see is the front - the back of the strand is hidden under my blouse and/or jacket. So, my "Career Pearl Necklaces" are designed for versatility and to be seen from the front. The back of the strand (the part that is hidden under my blouse) has a "tail". 2. Formal - My "Formal Pearl Necklaces" are a fixed length, and have a finished clasp. The clasp is meant to be seen, whether you have short hair, are wearing you hair "up", with a gown - they are designed to ensure you look beautiful whether you are coming or going! 3. Playful - These are the necklaces you wear with your jeans or to be casual. They may be color enhanced or include gemstone beads - or in some way are not what you see with traditional pearl jewelry. Special Lengths - I also create necklaces in various longer lengths - "Princess Length" is around 22"; "Opera Length" is usually around 37"; and "Endless Strand" is even longer, and with no clasp - just slip them on and wear them long or double them up for a different look. About my Pearl Bracelets and Earrings: I try to make sure I have bracelets and earrings to match. Usually they are sold separately, but I will use the same "color name" so you know they will match the piece you are purchasing. I also try to include photos with the necklace strands. Pearl Enhancers - I like to "spice up" my pearls with "Pearl Enhancers" in gemstones. Check them out! Sometimes its fun to add some color with those pearls! Pricing - I love hand-knotting so much, I don't mark up the price very much. The size of the pearl and the type (and material) of the clasp will generally be the reason one strand may be a higher price than another. As mentioned, they are cultured. It's important for you to know - but culturing them in no way makes them less valuable or beautiful. Shipping: to the US is FREE; and shipping outside the US is determined by using the shipping calculator. Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you are not completely satisfied, please let me know, send it back and I will refund your purchase price. I would like to know what issues you have, as I love each jewelry piece I make, but you as the purchaser are my primary concern. This set is perfect for any season - and it's not too early to start your holiday shopping!
