Description
Beautiful Zuni inlay spinner pendant depicting a road runner on one side and a parrot on the other. Extremely well made piece. Inlay is very tight and smooth. Excellent example of master Zuni silversmiths. Very fine craftsmanship! The inlay stones include coral, turquoise, abalone, jet, lapis, serpentine, and mother of pearl. The diameter of the pendant is approximately 2 1/8".Signed on the inside of the outer rim by "Dennis and Nancy Edaakie". Dennis and Nancy Edaakie are considered among the old masters. Their work has won numerous awards and been featured in the American Museum of Natural History. Sadly Dennis passed away in May which is a great loss because you just don't see the same quality of workmanship from other artists. Dennis has been credited with the original creation of the Spinner Pendant and was a descendant of the Parrot Clan. This piece was acquired from the estate of a very discerning and knowledgeable collector of Native American art and gemstones whom I have personally known and respected for many many years.
