This unique box measures 8" long X 5" wide X 4.25" tall.  It is comprised of an intricately carved cast metal, with wonderful patina and tin keyboard.  The top of the piano has been cut from a slab of butterscotch bakelite (tested) and measures about 7.5" X 5.25" X .25" thick. The inside is all lined in wood, with a section for your jewels.  The box plays nicely and there is a fabulous decorative medallion on the top of the bakelite (which has been glued on).  Also one of the hinge housings has broken off, so it is attached by only one hinge.  Otherwise a fabulous example and what excited me was that big slab of bakelite!
