The tiara is made of an aged silver metal that has a wonderful patina that only comes with age. There are many, many iridescent rhinestones (way too many to count) that comprise the tiara and all are in excellent condition with no darkening of the stones. There is only one stone missing from the bottom front of the piece that can best be seen in the first photo. Other than this one missing stone, all other stones are present and very tightly prong set. The tiara features large, medium and smaller round rhinestones as well as marquis shaped stones. The crown is larger in the front and tapers down each side and to the rear of the piece. There is an aged cream colored cotton type material band surrounding the bottom inside of the crown for comfort. The shape of the piece is oval which makes it a comfortable fit on the head if you choose to wear the tiara in addition to using it as a collectable display piece. The tiara measures approximately 9 inches from front to rear, 7 ½ inches at the widest point and 3 ½ inches at the highest point in the front tapering down to 2 ¼ inches on the sides and, finally,1 ¼ inches at the back. The tiara is very sturdy and substantial and weights just a bit over 8 ounces without any packaging materials. Some of the photos feature the tiara on top of a gorgeous 1940’s blonde store display mannequin head that is available in a separate auction but is not included in this auction. The tiara looks stunning on the mannequin head but would be lovely resting on the head of any stature or doll you may already have in your personal collection. The tiara would also make a stunning addition to a tiara and/or crown collection you already have or would be the perfect piece to start a collection with!
