The acclaimed inlay artists Sammy Smith did the inlay work and his friend Michael Jack did the silversmithing. Sammy never does the silver work for his bracelets but will occasionally for smaller pieces.   Sammy is, in my opinion, one of the top two or three Navajo inlay artists working (L*a*r*r*y  C*a*s*t*i*l*l*o and C*a*l*v*i*n  B*e*g*a*y are two others, and I have several of Larry's fine bracelets listed now will soon have an array of C*a*l*v*i*n's work  listed as well.). He specializes in traditional inlaid Navajo Sun, Moon, and Stars designs, and I've never seen any two of his exceptional bracelets that were exactly alike. Bracelets like this one now command the same top prices as the internationally famous Zuni inlay artist D*o*n  D*e*w*a!   This positively stunning inlay bracelet features as you might expect from the name of its genre a gorgeous array of astronomical and earthly phenomena. The center panel features appropriately enough a dominant and intricately inlaid Moon Face with a smaller setting Sun Face, the planet Earth in turquoise, and sterling silver stars all inlaid into an Acoma black jet background. Moon Face and his 'moonray' headdress consists of inlaid gaspeite, burnt orange spiny oyster, white laboratory created opal, lavender stechtite, sky blue Sleeping Beauty turquoise, and blue green Turquoise Mountain turquoise. Sun Face consists of of inlaid pink coral, gaspeite, black jet, and white mother of pearl. The two planets are inlaid turquoise, and the stars are inlaid sterling silver.   One shank panel shows several contemporary interpretations of turquoise,  gaspeite, and pink coral comets and meteorites three of which intersect against a black jet blackground also with a inlaid red spiny oyster Mars, a white mother of pearl moon, and inlaid sterling silver stars. Moving toward the bracelet's center is cobalt blue lapis and turquoise mountain design against a genuine pink sea coral background followed by two vertical accent bands of turquoise one of which has a small lapis inlay in the center. Next is an inlaid melon shell design depicting a Zuni style cactus design inside a orange melon shell and black jet cloud design.   Flanking both sides of the center panel are vertical rows of eleven graduated black jet raised inlays representing rain clouds.   The opposite shank features a white mother of pearl lightning (arrow) design, a blue green turquoise Earth, a red spiny oyster Mars, inlaid sterling silver stars, and a very contemporary interpretation of the Ship Rock done in white mother of pearl, turquoise, black jet, and red spiny oyster. The next inlay panel features inlaid turquoise, lapis, and orange melon shell and a pink sea coral coral and lapis stairstepped mountain design.   This work of art is uniformly 1¼" wide. It has an inside measurement of 5½" and an absolutely non adjustable opening gap of 1¼." If your wrist is 6¾" or slightly less in circumference, this will fit.
